Atlas Sound is the name of a musical solo project of Bradford James Cox, the lead singer of Atlanta four-piece Deerhunter. Cox was born in Athens, Georgia in 1982 and suffers from Marfan Syndrome.[1] The singer has released an album entitled "Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See but Cannot Feel" on indie-label Kranky to favorable reviews. In explaining his reasoning for a solo project, Cox has stated, "It's just that I have ideas that I can't make work with a five piece rock band...there's kind of this palette of sounds that I use that I don't necessarily get to use with Deerhunter".[2] Cox has noted his heroes to be Ricky Wilson from the B-52's and Laura Carter from Athens punk band the Bar-B-Q Killers. Cox is openly bisexual,[citation needed] but remains ambiguous regarding his sexuality in interviews.

Cox met his collaborator and best friend, Lockett Pundt, in high school. He started recording on a cassette karaoke machine in 1994 when he was in sixth grade. He has used the name "Atlas Sound" since then, as it was the name of the company that manufactured the tape machine. Cox has also recorded as part of other bands, such as the short lived "Wet Dreams", an all-girl garage / noise band in which he played drums. He also recorded several tracks on the Black Lips second album "We Did Not Know the Forest Spirit Made the Flowers Grow", playing drums on the song "Notown Blues" from that album.

Black Mountain is a Canadian indie-rock band composed of Stephen McBean, Amber Webber, Matt Camirand, Jeremy Schmidt and Joshua Wells.
Leader Stephen McBean also heads another similarly named band, Pink Mountaintops, who are the more experimental side of McBean's musical abilities. Black Mountain is the front line band for Black Mountain Army, a collective of musicians, artists and friends in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
By day, three members of the band work for an organization (Insite) that meets the basic living requirements of the chronically poor, drug addicted and mentally ill near Vancouver's infamous Main & Hastings intersection, in the Downtown Eastside neighbourhood, widely considered to be the heroin capital of Canada, if not North America. The name "Black Mountain" could be a reference to a large pile of hashish or simply the mountain of the same name which lies predominant on the city's North Shore skyline.
Black Mountain has released two LPs, In The Future (2008) and Black Mountain (2005), and an EP titled Druganaut (2004) on the Jagjaguwar label. A split single with Destroyer was released in Fall 2004 on Spirit of Orr. The "Stormy High" single was released in 2006 on Suicide Squeeze records.
Also, in 2005, the band opened for Coldplay on their Twisted Logic Tour for three weeks, with their final opening in San Diego. Their self-titled album was chosen as one of Amazon.com's Top 100 Editor's Picks of 2005.
They recently were featured on the soundtrack for the box-office hit movie Spider-Man 3, with their song "Stay Free".
A vinyl single was released in April 2007 named "Surrender Sound Session: Unkle vs. Autolux/Black Mountain" with a remix of "No Hits" on the B side.
In a recent 10th anniversary edition of Uncut magazine, the band was mentioned in its included "Book Of Rock Revelations."

Rhythm guitarist Eric Berg formed the band with the idea of putting ten musicians in a band without any rehearsal, and performing a D chord for 45 minutes (similar to Terry Riley's In C). He continued performances with numerous instrumentalists before releasing their first recording If I Could See Dallas on Kindercore Records in 1999. The band settled into a consistent lineup on The Sleepy Strange, released in 2001, also on Kindercore. That lineup, which included pedal steel instrumentalist John Neff, drummer Brant Rackley, keyboardist Todd Kelly, bassist Nick Bielli, and cellist/keyboardist Heather MacIntosh (along with Eric Berg on guitar) also recorded 2002's Belmondo for California's Darla Records imprint. 2003 saw the departure of Todd Kelly, and 2004 saw the release of Waking Hours on the Athens label WARM Recordings.
Japancakes released two albums in fall 2007, Giving Machines and a cover of My Bloody Valentine's Loveless, both on Darla Records.

Throw Me the Statue was formed by Scott Reitherman after he began self-releasing CDs of buzzy, lo-fi indie pop in 2004. Friends, including Pedro the Lion member Casey Foubert, pitched in to help as Reitherman added instruments including drum machines and glockenspiels to round out his sound. A full band came into shape in early 2007 as Throw me the Satue's debut album Moonbeams was released on Reitherman's Baskerville Hill label and later on Secretly Canadian. They have been featured on Pitchfork Media[1] and NPR [2] and have received airplay on the independent Seattle radio station KEXP.

Enon is an indie rock band founded by John Schmersal (guitar/vocals, born either 1972 or 1973), Rick Lee and Steve Calhoon. Currently, Enon is situated in Philadelphia, though the band is known for being part of the New York music scene.
Schmersal was originally in the band Brainiac and formed Enon (named after the village in Ohio, which is close to Schmersal's hometown of Dayton) with Lee and Calhoon following the death of Brainiac's singer Timmy Taylor and their subsequent disbandment.
Lee and Calhoon were both previous members of the band Skeleton Key. Lee created a number of percussion sounds for the band playing a "junk kit" including a Radio Flyer wagon, propane tank, and old hubcaps.
After the release of their first album Believo! in 1999, Calhoon left the band and was replaced by Toko Yasuda (bass/vocals) and Matt Schulz (drums).
With the new lineup, Enon released High Society in 2002 and toured with The Faint. A majority of Enon's albums have been released on the Chicago-based indie label, Touch and Go Records.
Lee left the band, and Enon went on to release Hocus Pocus in 2003, and a collection of singles and previously difficult to find internet-released songs with a bonus DVD entitled Lost Marbles and Exploded Evidence in February 2005.
Enon released their fourth studio album, Grass Geysers...Carbon Clouds on Touch & Go Records on October 9, 2007.[1]
